Ch, Ch, Ch Changes..........

This weekend, I just couldn’t bare to drive for 3-4 hours out to the beach so I am here in Kitsap County taking it easy. After an emotional meltdown after clinic shift on Thursday (I needed a good cry) I was so exhausted on the ferry ride home, I could barely keep my eyes open on the drive to my campground home. I slept very good and took myself to the gym the next morning with the intention of heading West to the beach later, but as I continued to move my body - the pain spoke so loudly to me. My body is readjusting and balancing out these days - it hurts. However, I do my best to honor my body, warm it up, give it movement and good food and thoughts. What we focus on persist so I try to focus on the fact that my body is changing for the better lifestyle and skills that I am learning, I also focus on what my teacher said to me about a month ago about pain - as healers that flow energy for others - sometimes we experience pain in the body as the body readjust to not only hold energy for ourselves, but flow energy for other people. This has helped with my perspective and I am keeping firm with that thought. I am happy to say that I have been going to the gym and working on building strength for the past week or so and I am happy with my decision to get moving in new ways again. I can’t lie - the 140 degree sauna is my main driver to get to the gym - it is colder in the morning and I absolutely love the idea of that hot space where I can sweat out my worries.

Since I made the decision on Friday to not drive to the beach, I brought my camper to the Moore Farm and set up. I feel so at peace here since they practically live in the woods. I feel like family here and that is a nice feeling to experience. I was planning on attending the 5:45 Power Yoga class to move and sweat - but I received a text from the owner looking for a teacher for the 4:30 class and since I was going to attend the 5:45 class anyways - it made sense for me to go early and teach which is always fun. I was pooped after being in 100 degrees for two and a half hours so I slept really good Friday night.

Yesterday, I was really excited to attend Roger’s Yoga Sculpt class for the very first time. Roger is the Commanding Officer of a Submarine and I met him early this year at an inversion workshop held at the studio. Since his mat was right next to mine, I made small talk with him and got to know him a bit. In this conversation, I found out he was not only a Submarine guy, he had just moved here from Hawaii where he taught yoga at Core Power and was a Sculpt teacher. I thought he would be a great fit for the studio and connected him with the owner of Kitsap Hot Yoga and he teaches when he is not out on patrol (on the submarine.) I was so impressed with Roger’s class yesterday and to be honest, that class will be on my list of things to do every Saturday morning as long as I am not out of town, His energy, enthusiasm, and perfect planning of his class movement with the music was hands down the best sculpt class I have ever taken. I am sure the fact that Roger is a handsome man doesn’t hurt either, but it was seriously a great class. I am happy that he is a part of the Kitsap Hot Yoga (KHY) team!!

Yesterday I assisted the Moore family in helping with the kiddos while mom and dad attended their Khaki Ball. This is the celebration that is had after the newly selected member of the Navy’s chief mess complete their induction season that last somewhere around 6 weeks. I absolutely love hanging out with the four boys and last night was no exception. After dinner, I set up the laptop with a movie on the deck as we all sat in the hot tub and watched Ice Age for about 15 mins then we shifted our location to the living room where I give each of them a small therapeutic massage session and watched more of the movie. The Moore children are very active and they play sports so it is fun to introduce them to the benefits of cupping, massage, and stretching at such a young age. My hope is they will learn to take care of their body during all of the sport and activities they play in life.

Well, today it is not raining and what a great day for me to not only get some organizing done in the camper (which has to happen all the time, since it is so small) It will be a great day to get out and take a walk and enjoy the beautiful outdoors before I head to the yoga studio. I plan on taking a class as well as I teach a class tonight. Starting tomorrow I am house/cat sitting on Bainbridge island and I already can tell I am going to miss my camper. I have became quickly attached to the cozy little space. Which reminds me, I could probably share a picture of me inside the camper soon. My trying something new this weekend is getting my WA state business license application compete as well as my legal documents completed for my business. Business is like a foreign language to me and I have avoided doing these things for way to long. I am not going to avoid it and take ownership of my life and day and get these things complete so I can move on with my dreams.

May you be healthy, may you be happy, may you live in peace.
